Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing is a kind of sterile disposable dressing, which is composed of thick and highly absorbent non-woven alginate fiber pad. It forms gel after contacting with wound exudate. Sodium alginate fibers are made from sodium alginate extracted from marine algae plants and woven into non-woven fabric by needle punching, which can reduce fiber shedding and enhance the physical strength of the dressing at the wound site. The weight per unit area of dressing ≥110g/m2 .

Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing is a kind of sterile disposable dressing, which is composed of thick and highly absorbent non-woven alginate fiber pad. It forms gel after contacting with wound exudate. Sodium alginate fibers are made from sodium alginate extracted from marine algae plants and woven into non-woven fabric by needle punching, which can reduce fiber shedding and enhance the physical strength of the dressing at the wound site. The weight per unit area of dressing ≥110g/m2 .
Intended use
The Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing are intended for use on more exudation wounds, it can be used on normal epidermis wounds, and dermis wounds can only heal by secondary intent. Dressing keeps the wounds moist and absorbs the exudation of wounds.
Under the care of a healthcare professional, Calcium Alginate Wound Dressings may be used in the management of full thickness wounds with moderate to heavy exudate (drainage) such as:
1) Leg ulcers
2) Diabetic foot ulcers
3) Pressure ulcers
4) Surgical wounds
1) Do not use on patients with a known allergy to Calcium alginates.
2) Not applicable for third degree burns.
3) This product is not recommended for use on sensitive areas, such as around the face and eyes, unless under the advice of a healthcare professional.
4) Ensure that packing in cavities, sinuses, etc. has been removed.
5) Whilst Calcium Alginate Wound Dressings assist in the management of wounds prone to minor bleeding, they are not intended to be used as a surgical sponge or to achieve hemostasis in heavily bleeding wounds.
6) Not for use on infectious wounds.
7) Situations where clinical doctors believe it is not suitable for use.
